Verbs with infinitives ending in -ыть
Russian grammar --> Verbs with infinitives in -ыть
In the non-past, Russian verbs ending in -ыть replace the -ы- by -о- and add regular first conjugation endings. The stress is fixed on the stem. Verbs of this type will have the following pattern:

Non-past forms of the verb открыть to open

The following table represents the conjugation of verbs ending in -ыть. These conjugation patterns will also apply to prefixed infinitives based on these verbs.

The exception in this group is the conjugation of the verbs плыть and слытьwhich is similar to the conjugation pattern of the verb жить.
